Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes at the Grand Opening of a New Disneyland Resort Attraction

See how our Disney team created an out-of-this-world gala inspired by the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction

It is an exciting time for Disneyland Resort as we unveil groundbreaking, never-before-seen opportunities for groups. Offering unique private-event venues such as picnic packages on the Magic Kingdom lawn at the Disneyland Hotel, or elegant meeting and conference venues at the recently-renovated Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, there are many ways groups can take advantage of the excitement this vibrant destination has to offer.

Recently, Disneyland Resort celebrated the opening of the new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure Park. To honor the occasion, our Disney team created an out-of-this-world party for specially invited VIPs and Guests.

Let’s take a behind-the-scenes look at The Tivan Collection Gala:

The event theme was based on the story of The Collector, a character from the Guardians of the Galaxy films, who devoted his life to finding and collecting one-of-a-kind items and preserving unique beings and artifacts from throughout the universe. This character’s passion was reflected throughout the futuristic, interstellar style of the event décor, table settings and centerpieces.

Subtle references to the Guardians of the Galaxy heroes Rocket Raccoon and Groot were found throughout the event’s decorations and food.

Displayed on an anti-gravity wall, “floating” appetizers included compressed watermelon with weightless vanilla lime foam, celestial ceviche with citrus air, miniature vegetable particle pizettas, and roasted potato infinity stones.

Dinner included several galactic, gastronomical options such as “The Most Dangerous Tacos in the Galaxy” featuring “Gamora Green Tortillas,” as well as nachos and sandwiches. There was something to send everyone’s taste buds on a cosmic adventure!

And now, for the best part – the dessert. These themed delicacies were as awesome as the infamous Awesome Mix Tape that inspired them! VIP guests especially loved the character cake pops!
