When you plan a meeting or event at any of the Disney resorts, you play a role in the environmental sustainability initiative that Guests and Cast Members participate in day-to-day. Gone are the days of unnecessary waste and inefficient systems. This Earth Day, learn more about our #GreenMeetings and how the Walt Disney Company can work with you to keep your meeting sustainable.

The Walt Disney Company has always been focused on environmental stewardship within all business practices- and this includes meetings and events. By 2030, the Walt Disney Company hopes to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions, protect water and ocean resources, achieve zero waste to landfill, lower the impacts of our materials and products, and promote sustainable design.

While holding your meeting, there is no need to worry about waste production. From meeting and event concepting with our expert events team, to notetaking in the meeting, digital notetaking is highly encouraged. If physical paper is necessary, Disney offers recycled content paper. We also offer digital resources in planning your meeting event, including: menus and event concepts, contracts, entertainment and floral orders, and more.

Within our meeting spaces, we are committed to environmental stewardship by timing HVAC and lighting systems. We encourage Guests and Cast Members to reduce their use of lighting and equipment.

At Walt Disney World, our 5 convention resort hotels maintain the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging designation, which focuses on water conservation, environmental education and awareness, waste reduction, energy conservation, and indoor air quality.

#GreenMeetings goes beyond the board room. After your conference, spend time in our eco-friendly parks to bond with your colleagues. By using the complimentary transportation options on Disney property- including buses, monorails, the Disney Skyliner, and watercraft- you reduce the need for individual transportation.

When you scan into your room at a Disney resort using your digital room key, you are also involved in our environmental stewardship initiative. Globally, we have reduced plastics in over 15,000 guest rooms by 80 percent by replacing disposable toiletries with bulk amenities. During your time off at your meetings and events, your menu includes plant-based items and locally sourced ingredients when available. Nearly 100% of seafood served is responsibly selected and sourced.
