Let’s see how Elliott hosted the Learning 2018 Conference, a global event for learning, training, HR, and performance teams in large corporations, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort:
What made you think of bringing your company to Disney for your meetings and events?
Disney is an experience – more than a venue. Disney provides end-to-end support, quality service and options for us – as a small team – to produce an over-the-top event for 2,000 people. Walt Disney World Resort is also near the Orlando, Florida area. It is an easily-accessible destination for our attendees to travel to, and it is a location where they look forward to convening.
Can you tell us about your group’s purpose and how that was conveyed throughout your meetings and events?
The conference is all about engagement for today’s learners. Learning is focused on an employee gaining the skills, information and judgement to do today’s job and prepare for tomorrow. The mixture of activities at Disney – including our speakers (from Michele Obama to Apollo Ohno to Hamilton star, Leslie Odom Jr.) and entertainment (a special performance by Norfolk Police Department) creates a magical experience for all our participants. And, they take advantage of scheduled extras, such as VIP tours, golf, and the Theme Parks.
How did the Disney team help you through the process of planning your meeting at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort?
Since we have been doing this event at Disney for almost 28 years, the Disney Meetings & Events team – from sales to conference support are like family. They are direct, responsive, and open to honest feedback and conversations. They help us continually rebuild and renew our event.
