Disney, Fox, and James Cameron to Bring "Avatar" to Life at Disney Parks
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide is joining forces with visionary filmmaker James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of AVATAR to life. Disney will partner with Cameron and producing partner Jon Landau to create themed lands that will allow Theme Park Guests to explore the mysterious universe of AVATAR firsthand. The first AVATAR themed land will be created in Disney's Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida. The AVATAR stories, living in harmony with nature, is a natural fit for Disney's Animal Kingdom. Construction is expected to begin by 2013.
