Since our convention venues are dispersed in and around Disney resorts and theme parks, meeting planners have the advantage of utilizing the convenient transportation infrastructure of our locations, which makes planning large events a little bit easier (and more cost-effective than you might think).
For example, the vast onsite, transportation network at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida includes a fleet of busses, monorails and boats, giving attendees the convenience and flexibility to enjoy Disney Springs, Disney theme parks and more during their free time. But, getting to/from Orlando International Airport is also just as convenient because attendees can take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express, which provides round-trip, hassle-free transportation that the event organizer doesn't have to worry about coordinating.
“Meeting and event planners find Disney’s Magical Express to be cost effective and a time saver,” said Amy Pfeiffer, Director, Convention Sales and Services. “In fact, one of the things we hear from attendee and clients is the amount of time they save. Because we take the stress of dealing with luggage at the airport and then take it all the way to your hotel room, all of that time is given back on arrival as well as departure.”
At the Disneyland Resort in Southern California, getting around is even easier since the entire resort is walkable, and there is a monorail connecting the Downtown Disney area to the Disneyland Park. At Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, the Ko Olina area surrounding the resort is connected by walkways, and there’s also a convenient shuttle to nearby shopping and dining.
With all of the other elements that you need to think of when planning events, transportation logistics doesn’t have to be a challenge. It’s just one of the Disney Differences and potential cost savings that you and your attendees will enjoy during your stay at a Disney Destination.
