As part of our on-going "5 Minutes With" series, every month we’ll introduce you to a new member of our Disney Meetings team at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Resort in California or Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii. Whether they work in our Disney Convention Resorts, Theme Park Operations, Catering and Convention Services, Sales, Entertainment or dozens of other event-support areas, these Cast Members and their teams are responsible for creating magical experiences and unforgettable events for meeting and event industry professionals, and their important attendees and guests, every single day.

Let’s meet Brian Bosch, Senior Sales Manager at the Disneyland Resort:

Hi, Brian, tell us about your role.

I represent the Disney Event Group here at the Disneyland Resort, which is the onsite Disney creative production team for our meeting and event guests. I help provide access to all of the magic and storytelling that the Disneyland Resort can offer. I am that “one stop shop” for event planners to creatively brainstorm how to use theme, entertainment, décor, and technology to make their meeting or event memorable for their guests.

Can you tell us about a typical day at work?

One of the best things about my role is that no day is ever the same. The bulk of my time is spent preparing for events by assembling proposals and planning out all of the details. Throughout the week, I could spend the day with a client planning out the details of each of his or her events. On another day, I could be conducting a site visit (or two) to showcase all of the amazing creative options that the Disneyland Resort has to offer. But the best days are when I get to be onsite at an event to witness the vision of our hard work come to life.

How do you and your team work with meeting and event planners?

I like to think that I help give meeting and event planners access to all of the creativity that The Walt Disney Company has to offer. I love to be a brainstorming partner and assist planners from the very beginning of an event with thematic design ideas. It is always helpful to have a thought partner to discuss high level ideas and creative successes.

Can you describe one of the most interesting or unique challenges you’ve had to overcome in your role?

While I love to help bring our Disney stories to life, most often I am asked to take another corporate brand, story, or theme and build an event around that. There have definitely been times where I am given an idea that is not easily translatable to an event concept. This is where I really rely on my creative partners to pull our resources and dive into adding a sense of Disney magic and storytelling to the event concept. This can be a challenge, but we always manage to find a way to bring any theme to life.

Can you describe one of your best Disney memories related to your position assisting a convention or meeting group?

There is nothing more magical than being in Disneyland Park after hours and being the only person walking down Main Street, U.S.A. When our event guests decide to hold a celebration inside of one of our two Theme Parks, they get to experience that same type of magic. You feel as though Walt designed Disneyland just for you. Listening to the music, seeing the twinkle of the lights, and walking towards Sleeping Beauty Castle – that really is a special memory.

What is your favorite part of your role?

I love to be creative and come up with new, visual ways to tell a story and bring an event to life. I have amazing partners and access to some of the most talented designers. When we all gather around a conference table and start to design an event with our meeting planners, I gain a new sense of excitement as each of the ideas begin to develop. The excitement of bringing ideas and sketches to life is truly the best part of my role.

What challenges or inspires you every day?

Each day I challenge myself to be innovative and unique. I do not want to design the same event twice, and seek to provide all of our meeting planners with a customized experience that fits their needs. Striving for that creative excellence that is truly Disney is both a challenge and inspiration. We are only as good as our last event, and that last event should always be excellent!
